Visiting & Staying at Kopan Monastery
Type of Stays
Plan the right visit for you
Whether you want to attend one of our courses, do a retreat, or stay privately for a while for self-study or reflection, Kopan is the right place. You are welcome to extend your course or retreat course by a day or two at the beginning or end. You are also welcome for a day visit.
Stay Privately
Guests can stay at Kopan only during private stay periods. These are included in our Course Calendar page, if no information is there, it means we are not offering private stays.
Day Visit
Visiting hours are from 9 am - 5 pm. We request you to dress suitable for a monastic environment.
Group Visits
Large groups and tourist buses for day visits must book an appointment in advance. Without an appointment, buses cannot enter the monastery.
Guests are kindly asked to follow the monastery Dress Guidelines. Please check our Dress Guidelines.
