ANNOUNCEMENT: STUPA INAUGURATION CEREMONIES

Dear Dharma family and friends,

 With great joy and honour, we warmly invite you to join us at the grand inauguration ceremonies of the Memorial Stupas of Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche and Khensur Rinpoche Lhundrup Rigsel.

On 11 December 2026, a grand consecration will be performed for the magnificent Stupa of Complete Victory that houses the sacred relics and holy remains of the late extraordinary Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche. The consecration ceremony will be held at Kopan Monastery, marking the successful completion of the Stupa that stands in loving memory of our most compassionate Guru, Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche. The entire Stupa complex, comprising the central stupa surrounded by 32 smaller Namgyalma stupas, is complete. By its accomplishment, we pray that Rinpoche’s profound and vast holy wishes will always be fulfilled, and that the unmistaken reincarnation will swiftly return to continue to enact Rinpoche’s extensive deeds for the benefit of the Dharma and all sentient beings.

On 14 December 2026, a grand consecration will also be performed to inaugurate the Mahabodhi Memorial Stupa at Kopan Nunnery, a monument to both Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche and the late Khensur Rinpoche Lama Lhundrup, who was the first abbot of Kopan Monastery and Nunnery. This Stupa, situated by the entrance of Kopan Nunnery, was constructed as an exact replica of the Mahabodhi Stupa in Bodhgaya. Adorning its inner sanctum are 1,000 statues of Shakyamuni Buddha and 1,000 statues of Heruka. Through its culmination, may the Dharma flourish without obstacles. Due to the merits of the Stupa being actualized, may the unmistaken reincarnation of Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche swiftly return to his seat as our sole Refuge and Guide. Likewise, may the reincarnation of Lama Lhundrup, Thubten Rigsel Rinpoche, achieve great success in his Dharma studies that he may be of extensive benefit to all sentient beings.
