Meditation Retreat - Stillness & Compassion 21 - 28 June, 2026
21 - 28 June 2026 7-Day Retreat
Led by: Ven. Thubten Khadro
In this beginner-friendly retreat, we step away from the busyness of daily life to turn inward, allowing the mind to gradually settle. Through periods of silence, gentle guidance, and traditional meditation practices, participants learn to cultivate inner calm and clarity. Silence acts as a supportive container, helping us listen more deeply to our own experience.
Alongside calming the mind, this retreat emphasizes the cultivation of kindness and compassion—toward ourselves and others. Drawing on teachings from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition and thoughtfully adapted for modern life, participants are guided to relate to thoughts, emotions, and challenges with greater warmth, empathy, and wisdom.
Retreat highlights include:
- Guided sitting and walking meditations
- Meditation instructions for calming and concentrating the mind (Shamatha)
- Teachings and meditations on compassion to open the heart (Bodhichitta)
- Periods of silence from 5:45 pm until after lunch the following day
- Sharing Circles in small groups for connected reflection
- Practical guidance for integrating meditation and compassion into daily life
Important to note:
- No previous meditation experience is required
- Commitment to maintain the designated periods of silence
- Commitment to attend all sessions, including the Sharing Circles
- This retreat is not a Vipassana (Goenka) retreat
