OVERVIEW:
Immerse yourself in the tranquility and spiritual depth of monastic life during our vibrant Monlam Festival. This unique opportunity allows for personal reflection, self-guided meditation, optional Dharma teachings with one of our teachers, and participation in traditional pujas and ceremonies.
You are free to move at your own pace, explore sacred sites around the valley, and leave and return to the monastery before 9:00 p.m.
DHARMA TALKS:
10:00am – 11:30am
Join us for optional Dharma talks designed to deepen your understanding of Buddhist principles and offer practical guidance for your spiritual journey.
ACTIVITIES & AMENITIES:
- Gardens: Relax and find peace in our beautifully maintained gardens.
- Meditation Hall: Space for personal meditation practice.
- Library: Browse a rich selection of Buddhist texts and spiritual resources.
- Cafe: Enjoy refreshments with stunning views.
- Shop: Find basic supplies and unique items.
- Daily Pujas: Participate in daily rituals that connect you to monastic traditions.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Room selection will be confirmed upon arrival. Single rooms are limited, and with large attendance, sharing may be necessary based on your initial choice.
SILENCE:
There is no enforced silence, but you are welcome to observe it. We kindly request guests to help maintain a peaceful environment.
SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT: Although daily meditations are not part of this program, you are encouraged to explore the city’s sacred sites. These visits can complement your retreat experience and provide additional context and inspiration for your personal practice.

- Rules: All private stay guests must adhere to the monastery’s rules.
– Guests are expected to follow the monastery rules, including adherence to the Five Precepts: no killing, stealing, lying, sexual misconduct, or intoxicants (including tobacco).
